Cancellations are effective the same day CSA receives it in writing. Cancellations must be in writing to be accepted and processed. E-mail is acceptable as well as postal letters. No phone call cancellations - it must be in writing.

All payments, less $500 enrollment confirmation, is fully refundable up to 150 days prior to the starting date. Within 150 days of starting date, $600 enrollment confirmation per person is non-refundable. Within 90 days of the starting date, a $700 enrollment confirmation per person is non-refundable. Within 60 days, a $900 enrollment confirmation per person is non-refundable. Within 30 days of starting date, a $950 per person enrollment confirmation is non-refundable. Within 15 days of the starting date, 100% of program cost is non-refundable due to the many expenses involved in arranging a program and any housing. Also, once you receive your final confirmation documents from CSA, there is usually no refund - except on a case by case basis, less any penalties. But if you cancel at anytime, you can also have the option to apply your payment, less any penalty (mentioned above), towards any program later the same year or following year. CSA will credit your account.

Participants (applicants) who are forced to return home after departure, or starting the program, due to illness or other reasons, may consult with the on-site school staff at the student office to discuss options and any possible refunds. Remember, once you receive your final confirmations from CSA, there is usually no refund if you cancel. Also, before or after the program begins, and after receiving your confirmations, if you decide to return home for "personal reasons", you will be forfeiting your payment to "the program" (school) and any housing" arranged. In addition, if you fail to obtain a passport in a timely manner...or Visa (if needed) after receiving your confirmation documents from CSA....there is usually no refund - except in special circumstances as determined by CSA staff...case by case basis.

NOTE: CSA cancellation and refund policy is very similar to other study abroad program providers, as well as general travel booking services. The various expenses involved in making program and housing arrangements, including administrative costs, warrant a policy that covers these expenses.
